The MapleStory homepage was recently updated, this time revealing TONS of information! This includes the rest of the Unlimited patch as well as things we haven’t seen in Tespia yet and future updates! Some of this stuff is really exciting, so read on!
First off is Monster Life, being released on January 17. We already knew about this, and I covered it in another post, so I won’t talk about it.
Root Abyss will also be released on January 17. Save the World Tree, Alicia, from her seal!
“Please, get me out of here…” a mysterious girl will tell you when you awaken in a dark place, almost like a prison. Alicia, the World Tree, has been sealed in Root Abyss and only you can help her escape!
Damien, the newest commander of the Black Mage and Demon’s thought-to-be dead brother, seems to be the main villain in this story. The video, although short, was really cool I think, and it showed adventurers!! Although we haven’t seen much of Damien at all in-game so this is sort of odd… maybe it’s a surprise addition?
Damien has left four Seal Guardians, Bloody Queen, Pierre, Von Bon, and Vellum! Defeat them in order to crush his scheme! However, be careful, these bosses are powerful beyond your imagination. (Well not really, but it makes things more exciting this way, doesn’t it?)
The ultimate item set equipment, the new level 150 set, can only be obtained in Root Abyss! If you wish to become stronger, challenge it!
At the same time, it says that Aswan Liberation War will also receive a surprise reorganization! I wonder what they’ll be changing… there’s not much they can do, unless they completely redo how it works or something, haha.
A new party quest, Tangyoon’s Cooking Class will also be released on that date. I still don’t know what happens in here, but it requiring 1 to 3 parties has me interested (although that level requirement…).
Now the more exciting part! The newly released patch on January 31 is titled Cygnus Returns, and brings with it a complete reorganization for the Knights of Cygnus!
The Black Mage’s commander, Damien, attacked Ereb and killed Shinsoo. Cygnus awakened in order to revive her! (She succeeded) Although incomplete, Cygnus’ awakening will give the Knights of Cygnus a newfound power!
The video above says COMING SOON, I’m excited to watch this fight between Shinsoo, Cygnus, and Damien!
On January 31, the Striker job (Thunder Breaker in GMS) will receive a complete transformation! They will be able to reach level 200, their job advancement levels will be changed, and the ultimate pirate will be born! Strikers will receive all new skills, summon the God of the Sea to split the ocean! Hyper Skills as well, of course.
It seems that each Knight of Cygnus job will be reorganized in different updates. In February, the Wind Breaker (Wind Archer) will be newly reborn! I wonder what they can do with the Soul Master, considering they already have Mikhail…
On this date, there will also be a system reorganization! The meso limit will be increased, and world merges are coming as well.
