Mercedes and Phantom Balancing
The March update has been released! This patch includes the new Soul Weapon system, season 1 of the job balancing, changes to party quests, Monster Park, and Monster Carnival, as well as some new options and the new widescreen resolution!
kMS ver. 1.2.191 World Selection Screen
kMS ver. 1.2.191 World Selection Screen (2)
Here are the world selection screens for this patch. The second (thanks to Locked of Southperry for it) features characters from other Nexon games, Dungeon and Fighter and Mabinogi due to some crossover items that were added this patch.
Basic Soul Enchanter Enhanced Soul Enchanter Special Soul Enchanter
Weapons combined with the power of bosses’ souls, Soul Weapons have been released! In order to change your weapon into a Soul Weapon, you’ll have to find Soul Enchanters, which drop from bosses.
  • Basic Soul Enchanter: 30% chance of working (also dropped by regular monsters)
  • Enhanced Soul Enchanter: 60% chance of working
  • Special Soul Enchanter: 100% chance of working
Soul Enchanters can only be used on weapons that are level 75 or higher.
Soul Weapon
After a weapon becomes a Soul Weapon, it will gain a tooltop at the bottom with all the Soul information. This includes the Soul Charge (/1000), the amount of weapon attack/magic attack your weapon is being increased by, and the Soul Skill you will gain. Obviously if you have not mounted a Soul yet, it will be blank.
If you wish to change a Soul Weapon back into a normal weapon, you can talk to the NPC Murmur. However, the Soul mounted will be destroyed. If an item is locked, you cannot change it back into a normal weapon.
Boss Monster's Soul Piece
All boss monsters will drop Soul Pieces. Combining 10 of these will give you the Soul of a certain boss monster, which can then be inserted into a Soul Weapon at a 100% chance. According to the boss Soul you have, you will gain a certain skill and stats.

  • Don't Block my Way Don’t Block My Way: Use the power of the Soul Weapon to summon Rex who will run into enemies in front of you, dealing 1000% damage on up to 15 enemies while ignoring 100% of their defense. There is a cooldown of 300 seconds.
Palm Fireball Effect

Miraculous Rock Spirit's Ravenhorn Crimson Cane
For example, the weapon above has been given the Miraculous Rock Spirit soul. It gives 50 LUK, and when 1000 Souls are charged, it will let you use the skill Rock ‘n Roll Baby.
Using another Soul on a weapon with a Soul already attached will destroy the old Soul and replace it with the new one, including its skill and stats.
Using a Soul Weapon
You will need to hunt monsters to charge your Soul Gauge. When it is fully charged, your weapon’s attack/magic attack will be increased by a certain amount and you will be able to use the corresponding Soul Skill by inputting a command.
Monster Carnival Invitation
Monster Carnival is back! It is now open to those level 110 to 130 (aw… I still won’t be able to use it) and requires a minimum of 6 people to a maximum of 12. Don’t worry about having to waste time waiting around though, the new waiting list allows you to find a match while you can continue doing what you were.
After enough people have been found, you will be moved to the matchmaking map. If after 30 seconds, there are still enough people, the game will start. Otherwise you will be given the Spiegelmann’s Cheer buff and sent back.
Enjoy Monster Carnival
The goal of Monster Carnival is to defeat more monsters than the other team! Based on your team’s performance and the amount of CP you have collected, you will be given Shining Maple Coins and experience.
You’ll need to collect at least 5000 CP to gain the maximum amount of experience possible. You can gain a maximum of 10 Shining Maple Coins in one play. Trade them in to Spiegelmann for special prizes!

Note, the one per day limit is shared between Easy Mode and Normal Mode. You cannot enter both in one day.

Message System

They will receive them the next time they log in, so you can even send messages to offline players! It costs 10,000 mesos for each message.

Wide Screen Resolution

Item Tooltip Options
A new option has been added, for item tooltips. You can now choose to simplify your item tooltips, because Nexon realized with all these scrolls and potential and Soul Weapons that they’ve gotten super long, haha.
Simplified Item Tooltips
Simplified item tooltips will look like the left items above. If you right click however, you’ll be able to see the stats of the item.
Pandora's Box

In terms of Cash items, two new boxes have been added. The first is Pandora’s Box, and it costs 1,500 NX. Like others of its kind, you can open them for certain prizes (they didn’t list any on the site so I don’t really know what).
