MapleSEA’s ”Win A Trip To Korea” contest (credit to mr.spadow)

MapleSEA held a “Win a Trip to Korea” contest with the launch of the Aran class last November.

The contest was about winning a trip to South Korea to explore everything what Korea has to offer~

Not only Korea, but also the Nexon office.

Four winners were chosen.

Occasionally I check the Facebook of GMS and MapleSEA because sometimes there are new photos and information on their profiles.

I already saw the ”Won Our Trip to Korea!!! >w<” album a couple days ago, but recently new photos of the Nexon office were uploaded.

I took a peek and saw interesting photos. I’m actually envious of these four winners. I really am.

Does anyone know them in real life? I’m really curious about what they heard. And did they get the chance to ask questions about future content? I wish I could talk to them. >.

Also does anyone know when these pictures were taken? Because on one of the photos I saw a monitor with a picture of Lex, the newest boss monster that was released in Tespia version 1.2.300. (!)

Alright, let’s start with the Animation team.

What do we see here?

We see a girl on the left working on a Knights of Cygnus background. Coincidentally in KMST V300 the login look was changed, but also the backgrounds (Adventurer, Knights of Cygnus and Aran) of the character creation.

What you see on the monitor is probably this:

You don’t see the change? … It’s small. They added a couple of trees in the background and in the bottom left corner they added some bushes.

We also see a girl on the right side, but I can’t clearly see what the thing on her monitor is. Since this is the animation team, it looks like the girl is creating a cut scene. It reminds me of Aran VS Black Magician cut scene. What about you?

Let’s move on to the Map Designer:

A new map?! It has to be a new map. You can see that this person uses a book for new ideas.

Oh my god! I’m curious what this is!

I hope one of the winners could explain what this is.

Gaga in real life. I believe this person is Chief Director, he always shows up on press conferences and Q&A sessions.

What do we see here?

This is the Graphics Design department.

The monitor on the right shows a cartoonish-Lex. I am 100% sure this is Lex.

If you look VERY closely, you can see the back of the hyena and a part of the skull.

This is really interesting.

And on the left side, what’s that? I’m clueless!

KMST V300 ~ New login look & another job in development? (credit to mr.spadow~)

After nearly two weeks a new Tespia patch has been released.
It’s a big patch, but the content is not big.

Though, new bugs were found in this patch and most likely this will not be the ”very big patch”.
The 7th anniversary of MapleStory is coming up soon in April and that has to be celebrated, I hope this anniversary will be much bigger than last year.

Let’s move on to what Nexon released in yesterday’s patch.
I’ll reveal the surprising part first.

New info has been added to the .wz files which revealed the skill names for the new job.

Very interesting, but I’m also dumbfounded why they’re releasing new jobs at a fast pace instead of developing useful content.
This patch brings a new refreshing look to login. I already love it, but I miss the old UI though…

It looks so modern now. Really neat stuff.

The content they have developed for his patch isn’t useful for high leveled players.

A new area dedicated to Shammos has been released in El Nath Mts.

Ice Gorge can be found in Ice Valley 2 map.
This area comes with new monsters:

The thing about this area is that.. you cannot really train on these monsters. Ice Gorge isn’t a training area, in my opinion it’s more of a (party) quest area.

No single monster spawn in the maps of Ice Gorge, you have to enter the other maps to complete your quests from Shammos.

To be able to fight the boss, you have to talk to Shammos in Chief’s Residence in El Nath.
You need a party of at least three people and then the party leader has to talk to Shammos.

When your party leader talked to Shammos, he will break free and disappear.

After he disappeared you have to go to Ice Gorge and the leader has to talk to Shammos again. Then your party will warp to a different map in Ice Gorge where you have to protect Shammos from the monsters. (listed above)

So you will only find these monsters in a special map. I went in with a party and the spawn of the monsters is really slow.
It’s really cool to see Shammos moving on his own.

After like four maps of protecting Shammos from monsters, your party will be able to enter a thousand year-old ice cave where you meet the boss, Lex.

My party killed this boss in less than 10 seconds.
Are the drops good? Hm.. Soso..

After beating it several times, I have seen it drop:

• Mirror Imaging mastery book
• Tornado Spin mastery book
• Scrolls
• Quest item
• Earrings

It drops something completely new, which are the new earrings.

Evan is coming to GMS in March!

Evan, the Dragon Master will be coming to GMS in a few weeks. It was MSEA who got Knights of Cygnus and Aran as first outside of Korea.
The English teaser website is the same as the Korean website.

With the teaser website comes an online event, the ”Grow your Dragon” event.
What do you have to do? It’s simple. Once this event is available, you login and you have to create a special HTML code, then you can paste it on different websites and you’ll notice it’s a sort of Flash application.

People can feed your dragon, you can give it one tetris block and a few drinks. You can feed other people’s dragon every 24 hours.
Your dragon can grow to six stages, the more EXP you get, the better your prize is.

When this event ended, I had around 800 EXP and I got five 2x EXP cards and a wand for attack 60% scroll and a dragon equipment.

The Q&A is where members can post questions and people can answer them.

Adventurer’s Return (balancing patch), Dual Raid, Dragon Rider and Golden Temple!

KMS version 1.2.94 ~ Dual Blade set

Today there was a patch scheduled, it patched everything from the last patch of KMST.
There was a bug with Mirror Imaging.

It was an image bug, it just shows up like that but you actually ‘Miss’. It’s not the real damage.

The new Dual Blade set were added to Cash Shop.

The most expensive Dual Blade set package costs 15,900 won.
It contains all the Dual Blade clothes and as bonus you get a blade and dagger for attack 60% scroll, Owl Chain, Tiger Mount one pair of cosmetic lenses.

Dual Blade hairstyles were released, the female haircut in the latest patch of KMST was familiar, but now I see they have changed it.
